| Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming every sector of society, from transportation and autonomous vehicles to biodiversity and wildlife conservation to food systems. It will be the driving force for the next information revolution. However, developing AI services can be very complex. AI research applications may span from edge devices to cloud computing or on-premises High-Performance Computer (HPC) systems and building them often requires expertise in AI algorithms, expertise in the science(s) of the AI use case, and expertise in the software and hardware cyberinfrastructure that support AI model development and deployment. The vision of the ICICLE institute is to empower users to seamlessly plug-and-play AI models and software components to compose a given AI-as-a-Service application that spans the edge-cloud-HPC computing continuum. In this BoF, ICICLE team members from The Ohio State University will talk about their roles on the ICICLE team and their work in support of the project. |
