| Computer Science (CS) education has become a priority in PK-12 education, yet barriers exist with engaging students, particularly girls, in CS coursework. Despite the growing demand for CS skills, gender disparities still exist. This session explores strategies to address these challenges by focusing on student engagement and the power of mentorship. This session will also examine ways to increase participation in CS among PK-12 students, with an emphasis on girls, through clubs, volunteer opportunities, and emerging technologies. By providing role models and engaging learning experiences at younger ages, we can help engage young learners in CS. |
