Glaucoma, an eye condition that damages the optic nerve and can lead to vision impairment and potential blindness if not detected or treated early, is a significant concern. The advancement of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, has opened up new possibilities for developing cost-effective solutions in healthcare. This collaborative research project uses computer vision and deep learning to detect glaucoma. In this endeavor, stakeholders from various fields play a crucial role, contributing their expertise and resources. They use a handheld fundus camera to capture an image of the patient’s eye, which is then processed by the glaucoma detection model. This model, built using advanced deep learning techniques, accurately assesses the likelihood of glaucoma in retinal fundus images, providing a valuable tool for early detection and treatment. |
